I’m Bryce, The man behind Lust & Light.
When I was 4 years old, I saw E.T.: The Extra-Terrestrial, and everything changed. The tale of young Elliott befriending and bonding with that wrinkly little lost alien showed me the power that a story could have, and from that day forward I knew what I wanted to do: tell stories.
When I wasn’t devouring movies and poring over comic books, I was telling my own stories—whether I was writing them down, drawing weird pictures that made my parents think medication might be something I needed, or acting out little scenes with all my Star Wars and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles action figures.
And then I discovered the camera.
I got my first Polaroid when I was about 10, graduated to a Nikon 35mm when I was about 16, and picked up my first mini-DV camcorder right before I went to college. My storytelling was never the same after that.
After earning my Bachelor’s Degree in Fine Art from the University of Oklahoma, I’ve spent the past 20+ years as a working photographer, videographer, and all-around media specialist.
(You can check out my other photography and video work here.)
But the stories I like to tell most are the most intimate ones.
I love capturing images that people are proud to share with friends and family—but the images people keep tucked away in a box, or only share with their most trusted and intimate partners? Those are what I live for.
We all have stories to tell, but I find that the ones where we allow ourselves to be seen—truly seen—are the most powerful of all. My work is about trust, collaboration, and creating a space where you feel safe enough to explore that part of your story on your own terms. Whether your images are meant to be shared or kept entirely private, my goal is the same: to help you see yourself in a way that feels honest, confident, and entirely yours.
